8:00Hotel Pickup, Meeting & Introduction

We’ll meet at 8:00 a.m. at your hotel. Listen as your guide allows you insights into the city (premium option), and the local culture while enjoying the urban landscape, and the scenery of the Andean Savannah outside Bogota.

Upon reaching Guativa Natural Park (basic option), your driver will provide you with the tickets, and some instructions so you can meet later. He/she will be waiting for about 2 hours.

10:00Sightseeing in Guatavita Colonial Town

Stroll through cobbled streets and gaze at the captivating colonial architecture of the town, whose construction is all about the El Dorado legend. (Premium option)

11:30Guatavita Lake Natural Park

Start your hike at the Chuzua—Indigenous ceremonial house. Hike through the Andean woods up to the lake at the top of the mountain. Hear in-depth commentary on the biodiversity and the Indigenous culture as your guide lets you in on its enthralling history. Upon reaching the top, take in the views and scenery of the lake from there (10,170 ft high), while enjoying its magical colors—a result of sedimentation on ancient rocks, that seem to be alive.

15:00Lunch at Zipaquira Town

After the hike at Guatavita Park, head over to Zipaquira town to enjoy the local gastronomy at a typical restaurant.

16:15 Salt Cathedral

Stroll through over 2 km of tunnels of a former salt mine as your guide/audio-guide allows you insights into the carving of the 14 chapels connected by an illuminated labyrinth. Its lighting creates a ravishing experience that is almost magical—even for non-religious people. Hear in-depth commentary on the Cathedral’s enthralling architecture, history, and cultural value. Gaze at the exceptional design of the marble sculptures carved by an Italian artist.

Finally, enjoy the captivating reflecting effect produced by the Water Mirrors and the Lighting Show.
